Karl Korsch: an introduction -- Marxism and philosophy -- The present state of the problem of 'Marxism and philosophy' -- Introduction to the Critique of the Gotha programme -- The marxism of the First International.
One of the most famous works produced by the European revolutionary movement, Marxism and philosophy is the first attempt by a marxist to apply Marx's critical and materialist method to the history of marxism itself. It discusses the evolution of Marx's own thought during his lifetime and the crisis of the orthodox theory of pre-1914 social democracy, which led to the formation of the Third International. Korsch argues that ideology is a crucial political instrument of bourgeois society and that marxsists must struggle against it, just as they fight its economic and political structures.
